The initial visit consists of a full medical evaluation and physical examination. Dr. Dolgoff will attempt to rule out any medical cause of overweight. If necessary, genetic tests for obesity genes will be ordered. Your child will be weighed and measurements taken. Your child's blood pressure will be measured and lab-work ordered. Lab-work will screen for possible physiological causes of overweight and complications from overweight. Your child's resting metabolic rate will be determined, if desired.
